ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Jade Mehok. I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana and lived in Chicago, Illinois for a year.. then Colorado Springs, Colorado for almost 9 months but now we are back to our roots. From 2020 to 2022, I was attending Columbia College Chicago double majoring in Journalism and Fashion Styling. But then COVID hit and I took some time to explore my options and go on a personal growth journey. I recently graduated from Ivy Tech College with a major in Human Resources. Now, you’ll see me attending Purdue Northwest double majoring in Human Resources and Events Management. One thing about me, is I wear many hats and I am a jack of all trades where my passions and interests overflow and intersect with each other.
During my time in high school, I was on the publications staff for four years and my last two years I was one of four design editors. I’ve designed two yearbooks and a handful of Scout magazines, both works of publication received national awards from NSPA/JEA and state awards from IHSPA. While on the staff, I wrote published news stories for lakecentralnews.com as well. During my senior year I then was a public relations intern and curated a newsletter every month for two schools. I then continued my journalistic career on to GreatNews.Life where I covered news stories and features all across Northern Indiana. Other than my journalistic background, my other knowledgable passions fall into fashion, where I have worked for fashion shows to retail to window displays. As well as photography as I have photography many significant milestones from graduation to weddings. Lastly, speaking of weddings this is why my other passion falls into. I am currently a wedding assistant and during my short-lived time in Colorado I worked as a wedding dress consultant.
Currently, I am in a position where I married many of my interests. I manage operations, sales, and events at Up Your Alley, where I book and host events, serve and bartend, and create promotional materials.
My diverse experiences reflect my wide range of interests, and you’ll often find me traveling or trying something new—whether it’s a career path or a new adventure—because I believe growth comes from exploring all that life has to offer. Although I am a Human Resources major, I hope to never loose my spark for the arts and with that — this website, is born.
As a lover of writing, thanks for letting me write! I’m excited to see where life will take me and I am excited to work with you soon. Until then, thanks for checking my stuff out.
